63-days #15 "Humbleness" 8/15/08 Liberation

This gua is very special. to the chinese and korean, being humble always brings about a great harvest.

I have three treasures
that i guard and hold dear:
the first is love;
the second is contentment;
the third is humbleness.
Only the loving are courageous;
Only the content are magnanimous;
Only the humble are capable of commanding.

Humbleness,
Prosperous and smooth.

It is the tao of heaven to send its energy down shining upon all beings.
It is the tao of earth to send its energy up linking with heaven

It is the tao of heaven to decrease the full and increase the humble.
It is the tao of earth to alternate the full and make the full humble.

It is the tao of spirit beings to harm the full and bless the humble.
It is the tao of humans to dislike the full and love the humble.

The humble is honored to radiate its brilliance.
when the humble is in a lower position, he/she does not lose his/her principle.
thus the superior person is able to carry his/her principle through to the end.

Within the Earth, there is Mountain.
an image of the humble.
the superior person decreases what is excessive and increases what is scarce.
he/she weighs things and makes them balance.

Among the sixty-four gua, only in humbleness are all lines auspicious. it is very special in the I Ching. One can see how much value was placed on the quality of humility by the ancients. to them, humbling oneself did not mean to act negatively by holding oneself back. instead one should act positively by doing something with other people cooperatively and harmoniously. the key is to respect people and treat them equally. only in this way can true peace and harmony be established in a community.

땅위에 있어야 할 산이 오히려 땅아래 있으니, 겸손하게 자기를 낮추는 상이다. 세상사도 자기 자신을 지나치게 내세우면 시기와 질투를 받고 때로는 해로움도 당하지만, 자신을 낮추어 겸손하게 하면 만인이 좋아하고 따르게 된다.
호괘가 뇌수해가 되니, 겸손한 덕을 갖추면 만사가 잘 풀린다.
큰것을 둔 자일수록 마음을 비우고 낮추어야한다.

You need 1. true understanding, 2. to practice humility as a virtue, 3. to not care if misunderstood at the beginning when it is for the good of the end.

Position and instruction
1. dark energy - be humble and more humble, use humility to deal with danger
2. dark energy - express your humility, take humility as the proper way
3. light energy - take responsibility for doing anything, do not comlpain, keep doing your work to its end
4. dark energy - be humble to those above, be humble to those below
5. dark energy - do not boast to others, do positive work through humility
6. dark energy - manifest your humility, overcome hardness by softness.

Humility does not mean that you have no ability to do anything. actually, you place yourself in the low position to do great works.
